You want to use your tool for a long time? Then take care of it properly!
The YPSI tool is 100% made in Germany. Maximum precision and many years of experience in wood processing make this product absolutely unique. The manufacturer Holz-Fit only purchases regional wood, in this case pear, to ensure the best possible quality. For protection and intended use, the wood is oiled several times. Oiling is (again) an absolute quality feature. For the furniture industry, however, this process is extremely complex and is therefore not used with pleasure. Oiled pieces of furniture are particularly touted and are extremely expensive. But even the correct oiling is a small art in itself.
Holz-Fit uses a natural oil based on linseed oil from a Swabian company in several work steps. This meets the highest safety standards in Germany, as it is also used for children's toys and has been verified with the important "sweat and saliva-proof" quality seal (DIN 53160-1:2010-10).
Since the YPSI tool or wood is naturally antimicrobial and can change color slightly, it should be cared for regularly and properly. During the massage or scraping, the wood can appear a little paler. However, this is only an optical impression, because the function and the positive properties of wood are fully retained.
At this point it should be mentioned that Holz-Fit only recommends the points below for maintaining the YPSI tool. Important, please do not use disinfectant spray!
The optimal maintenance of the YPSI tool:
First place definitely goes to the natural products salt and lemon. Wipe the tool with enough salt and lemon. Complete! Both have an antibacterial effect and thanks to the lemon your tool gets a nice shine again.
2nd place goes to the well-tried household remedy "soda powder". It is currently celebrating a major revival and is used as the ultimate care and cleaning agent. It is cheap to purchase and easy to use. Simply rub the tool with baking soda powder and wipe it off again with lemon. Complete.
3rd place and bronze goes to a damp cloth. If you're in a hurry and you don't have salt or lemon at hand, take a damp cloth and give your tool a quick wipe. Important, your cloth should be damp and not wet.
Finally, you can oil the tool at regular intervals - 1 to 2 times a year when used in the PT area. Give your tool the finishing touch and instead of pouring your linseed oil into the salad, take 1-2 drops and rub it evenly into your tool. Important, do not take too much linseed oil and wipe it off with a dry cloth after 1-2 minutes. Complete!
