About the YPSI methyl complex

Methyl group donors or methyl group donors are substances that make methyl groups available for the methylation process.

The status of the methyl groups is reflected, among other things, in the homocysteine ​​concentration in the plasma and is inversely proportional to the folic acid concentration (vitamin B9) in the blood. The cause lies in the insufficient provision of methyl groups to convert homocysteine ​​into methionine. In addition to folic acid, other nutrients are important for the methylation and metabolism of homocysteine.
